CM Wahl graduated from Augusta University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a certificate in Media Production.
During her time in college, CM was the editor-in-chief of the Phoenix magazine and co-president of the Media Production Club. She also took on several roles with the Bell Ringer student newspaper, her final position as managing editor.
CM won the Non-Fiction Shelf award for her short-form news story, "Prepared or Paralyzed: Determining Campus Readiness" and was recognized by the Georgia Collegiate Press Association in the Best General News Story category for her article, "Trafficking: a community response."
While presiding over the Media Production Club, CM co-wrote and directed two short films: "The Undoing" and "Fake Out." CM co-wrote, directed, filmed and edited an additional short film called "Campus Curse," which was nominated for several awards including Best Horror/Suspense and Best Cinematography in the 2025 Gwinnett County Library Student Film Festival.
Before graduating, CM was given the Society of Professional Journalists' Free Expression award and the Augusta University Champion of the First Amendment award. She also received the Most Diligent Student award, the Award for Outstanding Work for the Phoenix Magazine, the Award for Outstanding Work for the Bell Ringer Newspaper and the Outstanding Advanced Public Speaking award.
